If you're trying to keep up with the Kingpin patch progress, check the Beta Patch Testing page. Just about daily updates, and up to 1.14 as of today. Ranger(BaS) mentioned over in the Kingpin Post forums that version 1.13c has been solid for him so far.
Regarding WinAmp and MP3Spy (both very cool programs, and both free), I found a really excellent Shoutcast! server, streaming at 128kBps, 44kHz stereo, running an excellent and wild mix of metal, from thrash to death to classic, with Red Hot Chili Peppers, old school funk, rap, and other goodies tossed in. This has kept me going at work for several days now. The address is http://128.61.52.63:8000/ for listening, and http://falling.down.resnet.gatech.edu/music/Songs.htm for a Music Ticker listing of the current playlist. Joe Bob sez, 'Check it out'.
Oh yeah, coffee . . . all day. :)

Two cups so far this morning. Jonesing in a serious way for something - I don't know what. It's one of those itchy 'I want something to eat, but I don't know what the hell it is!' moods, and it's even worse because I'm at work. Aaaaagh.
Kingpin - patched, and then broken. Damn. Well, Ridah's working on it as fast as he can.
Found a pretty cool site (depending on your attitude toward warez, et al) - MP3Radio.com. They've got links to several search engines, and some other interesting places to look for MP3 files and players. I don't like warez as a rule - I think software developers who do a good job should get paid for their work. I realize there is a massive amount of piracy going on in the MP3 scene, but that's going to happen regardless of the format. There's so many possibilities for this stuff, it's insane.
Check the writings page for an update. I will finish this before I retire.

Just realized that I haven't discussed beer! Senility is beginning it's inexorable creep, I'm afraid - all that drinking Coke out of aluminum cans . . . so, without further adieu, let's get thirsty!
Still poor, still drinking Folger's. I just want it to be known that decaffeinated coffee is an evil equal to lite beer, as far as I'm concerned. Just don't do it.
If you know where someone can get some MP3 copies of the tracks from Tool's 1992 EP, Opiate, please mail me. That wacky Brit, Ranger(BaS), is looking for a fix, and it seems the UK is a bit dry lately. And I already checked over at The Tool Page - their bootleg MP3 section, linked to http://beat.down.net, is apparently defunct for the time being.
