Folger's again today - seemed to be just the thing to help me tune up the pages, with some helpful suggestions from Über to go along with that groovy eyeball. There's nothing quite like accidentally cutting and pasting in an extra [/table] tag into your code to really make you want to rip your hair out . . . ;)
Looking to check out the new Mortyr demo, as well as that 140MB monstrosity from Outcast. I've got to say that Outcast, despite the voxel-'enhanced' graphics, looks like it has some major possibilities. Of course, stacked up against Quake 3, Unreal Tournament, and things like Giants: Citizen Kabuto, it's going to have a tough time competing. Still . . .
The Kennedys keep on biting really hard bullets. I'd be four miles underground in a triple-walled bunker if I happened to have the misfortune of being a male in that clan . . .
Final note - the P.E.Z. clan is hosting a new LAN party. Check their homepage for all the newest details. Looks like it's going to be a good one . . .

First off, major props to mein Freund, Überdroog, for the smooth-as-Barry-White graphic overhead - if you're needing graphic design, webpage design, or general coolness, he's always looking for work. Check out his design skills at Sin Post and his newest creation, Kingpin Post. The man has the skills to pay the bills, folks :).
Coffee. Hmmmm, just Folger's lately - the summertime electric bills here in Texas are going to preclude eating pretty soon. If you're poor like me, the Folger's special blends are a more than acceptable substitute for your favorite whole bean. Just brew them strong, and they'll give you that morning kick in the ass just fine . . .
Other news? The new Quake 3 Test is interesting - I like the new map. It seems to me that if I want to grab a pick up match, just straight up deathmatch at Mach 2, then Quake 3 is the thing. I think I still have to go to other games, like Sin, to get a feeling of actually playing with people. There's just not as much personality in the Quake 3 community that I've encountered - no banter on the servers, and I haven't bothered with the forums. It's going to be an interesting fall, folks.
Movies . . . The Spy Who Shagged Me just didn't do it for me. I was really wanting to like this movie, but it just never took off. There were a few amusing points, but overall, I think I'll have to stick to the original.
Just finished one book, and I started up about four others, including an older Tony Hillerman novel, Skinwalkers. Fast reading, like a good television movie, with a bunch of familiar characters and the fascinating setting of the Navajo nation in New Mexico and northeast Arizona.
More later . . .

First coffee ever - IHOP in Amarillo, Texas, after a lot of hard drinking. Result? Intestinal distress, skull-crushing pain, and a general malaise that took three days of sleep to recover from. Took nearly three years before I touched the stuff again . . .
Nothing new on the gaming front for me, but Kingpin is getting a lot of press, mainly in the direction of "it's got a lot of potential, but we need a friggin' patch, and NOW!" Seems like the game rocks, but needs some tweaking. Sounds a lot like the last FPS game I got hooked on . . .
Texas is still out there, and it's a weird mix of thunderstorms and blowing dust. There's nothing to compare to the size of the sky in West Texas, unless you were somewhere out in the middle of the ocean, or maybe Kansas. I'd pick the former, or maybe just stick to Texas - there's more stuff to stand on here.
Slow on the writing front - needing some sleep. Recommended reading for the day: Island in the Sea of Time by S. M. Stirling. A great book with an intriguing premise, well written, smoothly paced, and solid characters that you actually care about. Get it . . .

First espresso - Poor Richard's Restaurant and Bookstore in scenic downtown Colorado Springs, right across from a park that my ex-wife informed me was the central drug-dealing spot in town. It was seventy-nine cents, and it was the only thing on the board that I could afford. Expecting coffee, got road tar . . . but it was good road tar. Thus began the corruption . . .
I need to get back to the mountains, and damn soon. Texas is just a bit flat . . .
Gaming news? Still waiting on Kingpin, but got in a bit of Sin boxing with some friends. Creative's new beta drivers for my TNT card are a bit nasty when it comes to Half-Life deathmatch - it'll be nice if they eventually get that fixed. And Nerf ArenaBlast is going to be a must have. My son is going to go apeshit . . .
Working on some short fiction for my own amusement. You like? Let's drip together.

Best java experience ever . . . at the Café du Monde on Decatur in New Orleans, Louisiana. It was fresh, steaming hot, laced with chicory, and accompanied by three sizzling beignets, completely coated with powdered sugar. This was all on a late, foggy, bone-chilling evening in December, listening to the Mississippi River drift slowly by. They probably weren't the best beans I've ever had, but the experience was unrepeatable . . .
To other things . . . RollerCoaster Tycoon. Get it, load it, live it. I've never been a fan of sim-style games - this one has me hooked, and hard. It's like crack - you get started, lose track of time, the need to eat, sleep, or visit the head, and look up to find it's 4:30AM and you still haven't finished setting up your park. This needs to be added to the Federal Controlled Substances listing . . .
